A former collegiate cheerleader, Byron is no stranger to fitness. (It takes a LOT of strength to throw people around!)
But as a BIPOC, queer man, Byron admits he initially felt the world of CrossFit was “too bro-y” to include him, so he hesitated. But after moving to St. Petersburg from North Carolina, Byron noticed CrossFit9’s annual PrideWOD, and decided to pay a visit. He was pleasantly surprised to find a new friendly, diverse fitness family waiting for him.
Unsurprisingly, Byron is now our resident welcome wagon, Beyoncé playlist curator, and 9FIT hype man. It’s scientifically impossible to leave his classes in a bad mood.
