The St. Pete Restaurant That Should Really Sponsor Greg:

Cappy’s Pizza

Greg and his wife Kelly are the proud owners of a beloved, albeit thoroughly spoiled, Australian Shepherd named Izzy.

Secret Talent:

“I have the singing voice of an angel, but debilitating stage fright so no has ever heard it.”

Advice for new 9’ers:

“Fitness is a marathon, not a sprint. Invest in the journey and embrace the reality that sustainable results take time, practice, and constant evaluation.”

Greg describes himself as an Average Joe who simply set a specific goal for himself. After a year of training, this St. Pete native wanted to further his understanding of CrossFit and its methodology, so he challenged himself to pass his CrossFit Level 1 certification.

Right around that time, CrossFit9 was looking for a coach with the heart of a teacher, and Greg fit the bill perfectly.

“I coach here because the CF9 community is home to so many fine, friendly people,” Greg says. “I am honored to be able to use anything I’ve learned along my fitness journey to be of service to them in any way I can.”

Now a Level 2 Coach, Greg loves breaking down complex, intimidating movements in an approachable way. His main drive is to inspire those who are struggling and push them to their “A-ha” moment.

When you take Greg’s classes, expect to hear a lot of classic rock and 80’s pop. Greg adds: “Sometimes, when I’m feeling really adventurous, 90’s pop.”

If you really want to get Greg going, tell him your opinions on thin crust vs. deep dish pizza. He’s the blogger behind St. Pizzaburg.
