CrossFit9 Intramural Open 2024

The CrossFit Open kicks off on Thursday, February 29. This is the guide for members and guests to participate at CrossFit9!

What is the CrossFit Open?

The CrossFit Open is a 3-week worldwide event that anyone can join. Including you!

For 99% of us, it's a chance to push ourselves, evaluate our fitness level against previous years, and help set goals for the future.

For those pursuing CrossFit as a sport, this is the beginning of the search for the Fittest on Earth, and a chance to get scored against all the other participants around the world. (Read: How CrossFit Finds the Fittest on Earth)

What are the Workouts?

There are 3 different workouts.

Every Thursday starting Feb. 29, CrossFit HQ will announce a new workout at 3:00 PM (EST). You can view the live stream at games.crossfit.com.

And How Does The Open Work at CrossFit9?

At CrossFit9, we host an Intramural-style Open focusing on community and fun over competition.

This year we will host Open workouts on Saturdays at 9:30 AM.

  • 24.1: Saturday, March 2, 9:30 AM (Main Room)
  • 24.2: Saturday, March 9, 9:30 AM (Main Room)
  • 24.3: Saturday, March 16, 9:30 AM (Main Room)

Please remember that there will be no 10:00 AM 9FIT, and this event will be held instead of the 9:30 AM CrossFit WOD. Other classes will be held as usual.

Show up ready to have a good time and cheer others on. Athletes will be responsible for warming up on their own and will complete the workout in heats, trading judging responsibilities as we go.

Stick around for a little cool-down party with some Bandit Coffee and good company!

Please note judges will not be provided at any time outside of this weekly event.

How Do I Participate? 

You have two options:

1. Join the CF9 Intramural Open FREE. Just reserve your spot in our Saturday 9:30 AM class and show up ready to rock!

You will only have a judge if you want one, and you will not be scored against anyone except yourself. However, you will get the game day vibes and all the moral support of the #9Nation cheer squad!

No official Games score submission is necessary unless you go on to...

2. Optional second step: Join the Official CrossFit Games Open to see how you stack up against every other athlete in the world! (You must register at open.crossfit.com.) Cost: $20
